Krones new generation F1 filling machine

The front desk has become the past
The new front-end design makes it easy to rely on the modular construction of different cappers. New filling valve without lifting the bottle. New decentralized filling component control system, new tubular ring cylinder. The Krones F1 filling machine breaks the tradition and is all new.

The F1 filling machine's front-end drive system includes a combination machine's rinser. Between the bottle rinser and the filler, the filler and the capper are connected by a separate neck pinion.

The truly powerful technological innovation is based on the accumulation of experience and technological simplification and is moving toward maturity, and is subordinate to the principle of "Zen" teaching. Under this influence, Krones AG in Neutraubling, Germany, developed a new type of filling machine called the F1 filling machine. The three major features of this filling machine are: The machine adopts a modular structure without a front desk design, a newly designed filling system, and a new set of filling valve control system.

Starwheel replaces the front desk

The new generation F1 filling machine is designed primarily for the volumetric Volumetic series of filling equipment for the filling of PET bottles. Due to the modular construction, different capper modules can be installed or removed without having to consider the platen, so the platen is no longer used on the F1 filler. The drive system, including the bottle-rinsing machine that may constitute a combination unit, also adopts a non-front-end design. Between the rinsing machine and the filling machine, the filling machine and the capping machine are connected by separate gripping star wheels. These stars are mounted on stainless steel columns with a single servo drive. Each star wheel has its own drive. A central controller is responsible for the electronic engagement of the drive units with each other. The star wheel and the servo motor installed in the column form a closed drive element.

The F1 filler without front-drive solution requires no special maintenance. Its cleaning process is simple and its service life is long. Residual beverages and cleaning agents can be discharged without hindrance and hygienic design is perfect.

Capping machine components can be freely expanded

The capping machine interface can be used to attach a new capping machine to an existing device at any time. Krones specially developed pre-assembled capper modules, including electrical systems.

The base frame of the modular capper is identical to that of all screw, aluminum and crown cap cappers.

The R1 rinser also has a modular construction. Its design meets hygienic standards, and looks very much in line with the F1 filling machine. The rinser also connects the filling machine via the star wheel.

New type valve can move out of the sleeve

The modular design of the F1 filling machine without the front desk can be considered an outstanding technological innovation. But its innovation will have to go a step further. So far, when filling beverages with steam, the bottles in the filling machine are sent to the filling valve by lifting cylinders. The F1 filling machine is just the opposite. The pinch star wheel conveys the bottle to the same height level on the filling machine. The filling valve drops from above to the bottle mouth. In the case of a bottle with a fixed suspension, the newly developed filling valve relies on a movable extension sleeve.

The key to this technology is the newly developed swirler. The vortexer does not use components that protrude into the bottle, such as filling lines or return lines, but instead installs the corresponding cone cover. The valve of the F1 filling machine feeds the filling liquid into the swirler and leads directly to the inner wall of the bottle. In this way, the bottle can be sealed without the need for elastomeric seals.

Decentralized filling component control system

The third major innovation Krones uses on the F1 filling machine is the decentralized filling component control system. The F1 filling machine uses separate controls for the filling components. Each workstation is equipped with a set of controls. The control unit is mounted directly on the filling valve and contains three-way control valves and all the required electronics for all pneumatic control functions. The advantage of this design is that the reaction time is faster; the repeatability is higher; the air consumption is reduced while ensuring the filling accuracy. The design meets hygienic standards and is the main feature of this F1 type PET bottle filling machine with capacity measurement function. Therefore, this filling machine is particularly suitable for PET bottle filling production with or without steam soft drinks and mineral water.
