Europe develops biodegradable dairy products packaging materials

[China Packaging Network News] Since the development of the European biodegradable milk bottle, this project has been subject to external attention. Recently, the European Commission allocated 1 million euros for the project, and appointed the Ampleas Association of Spain to lead the other eight European R&D teams to complete this challenging project.

According to Aimplas, the project aims to develop a biodegradable material that can be applied to dairy products and can be heat-treated.

The data shows that Europe is the world's largest dairy packaging consumer market. However, of the nearly 2 million tons of HDPE milk bottles consumed each year, only 10-15% of the waste plastic bottles can be recycled.

Therefore, the development of renewable plastic containers is of crucial importance to the European recycling industry.

Aimplas said that at present, their main task is to develop multi-layer and single-molecule plastic bottles and other dairy plastic packaging bags through cooperation and exchanges with his eight European scientific research institutions. The dairy products are packaged through special processes. Biodegradation allows full use of the surplus value of plastics.

The research and development of new packaging materials technology is to promote the green and low-pollution market phenomenon. It is a measure to meet the social atmosphere. This project in Europe is a pioneer of modern technology and a goal that the packaging market needs to pay attention to in the future.
