Introduction of centrifuge separation factor

The centrifuge separation factor is the ratio of the centrifugal force to the gravity of the suspension or emulsion in the centrifuge drum in the centrifugal force field, that is, the ratio of centrifugal acceleration to gravity acceleration. The separation factor is represented by Fr: where R is the radius of the separated material in the drum (m); ω is the rotational angular velocity of the drum (radians / second); g is the acceleration of gravity (9.81 meters / second 2); Is the rotating speed of the drum (rev / min); m is the mass of the material in the drum (kg). Separation factor is the main index to measure the performance of centrifuge. The greater the Fr, the greater the driving force of the centrifugal separation, and the better the separation performance of the centrifuge. However, for suspensions with compressible deformable filter residue, excessively large Fr will block the pores of the filter residue layer and the filter medium, and the separation effect will deteriorate. During the separation process, when the materials are at different radius positions in the centrifuge drum, the Fr value is also different. It is easier to increase Fr by using a high speed than increasing the diameter of the drum. Therefore, centrifuges with high separation factors all use high speed and a small diameter of the drum. At this time, the stress of the drum is small. The Fr of the centrifuge usually refers to the value at the maximum diameter of the inner wall of the drum (in this case, R is the maximum radius of the inner wall of the drum). The filter centrifuge has a Fr of 100 to 1500, the sedimentation centrifuge has a Fr of 1000 to 6000, the gas separation super-speed tube centrifuge has a Fr of up to 62000, and the experimental analysis ultra-high-speed centrifuge has a Fr of up to 610,000.
