How to do a good job in printing procurement

Printing is a door technology. Different printers have different devices, different devices do different things, or just do the same thing in different ways. If you are cooperating with a printer for the first time, you may not have a clue. It does not matter, please relax! This is the experience and feelings that novices will have.

There are prepress, postpress, and a variety of printing processes in between. From the start of paper, ink, folding problems and file formats, quantities, and detailed shipping instructions, to the final delivery and end of the package, who says that printing is a breeze?

However, the good thing is that most printers can help you get started. For example, many printers pre-printed a “cost estimate application” and listed a checklist for your product. If you tell the printer in advance that you are new, they will guide you and make the whole process go smoothly.

In addition, the following four points are suggestions for newly-introduced print purchases to help complete the entire transaction and eventually get the product that they expected.

1. The deadline must be actual

In the beginning, you should clarify your plan with your printer and do not set the delivery deadline unrealistically. Otherwise, it may eventually exceed important deadlines or bring other consequences. And these, if explained in advance with the printer, can be avoided.

2. Understand the processing technology

A good print purchase should be professionally trained. It should be understood how the printing is done, especially the major processes that each job must undergo.

3. Pay attention to your proofing

Don't ignore the proofing stage. There are different proofing methods here, but these proofs come from the documents you submitted to the printer. Prepare documents carefully and ask the printer for tips. After proofing came, be sure you know what to look for. Do not seize the proof, it should be promptly returned to the printer.

4. Maintain communication

The printer needs to communicate with you about the key details. I know many examples of this: Due to lack of adequate communication and exchange, the final product cannot be successfully completed, or it cannot be completed as expected from the print purchase. If you can communicate candidly, then you can have long-term friendly cooperation with the printer.
