SABIN Sabine FBX2420 Operation Manual

Set up FBX-2420:

The following steps can enable the system to obtain the maximum gain before feedback occurs without changing the tone quality of the system (note: do not set two channels at the same time).
Step 1: Place the speaker and microphone in the required position, and pay attention not to point the microphone directly at the speaker;
Step 2: Press the "Bypass" button to set the FBX channel in pass-through mode;
Step 3: Pull the mixer output level to the lowest position, turn on the mixer, then FBX and other auxiliary equipment, and finally the power amplifier. Then adjust the balance of each channel of the mixer and set the main output of the sound reinforcement system to the minimum;
Step 4: Press the RESET DYNAMICS button until all indicators are off to clear the previous filter settings, the Clip level indicator will flash;
Step 5 (optional): Set the number of fixed filters. Press the "NUMBER OCTAVE" button () for seconds. The filter indicator (LED) will flash 4 times and then go out. Release the buttons and the LEDs will start to light up one by one. When the lights corresponding to the number of fixed filters are on, press the "Set Fixed" button. The fixed filter has been successfully set, and the remaining filters will be dynamic filters; (When you reach a position, the default is a few, such as; when it flashes to the third, it will default to three. Flashes to 11 (The default is 11 fixed channels)
Step 6: Then set the active filter again; press RESET DYNAMICS to set the active filter again. (The method is the same as the fixed filter setting
Step 7: Press the "Bypass" button, the red LED goes out, press the STEP button to enter the channel to enter the Active activation mode;
Step 8: Slowly increase the main output level of the channel to be set in the sound reinforcement system until feedback occurs. FBX will quickly remove feedback. The first filter light will flash, indicating that a filter has been set. Repeat the above process until all fixed filters and a dynamic filter are set.
Step 9: Slowly lower the main output level, don't leave the system on the edge of another feedback point, the volume level at this time is the maximum volume level that FBX can provide. Too high a level will cause uncontrollable feedback; when the fixed filter channel is fully activated, the system automatically suspends the entire SABINE work. At this time, the blue light in the READY button starts to light up. The setup is basically complete.
other aspects:
Channel A and Channel B (left and right channels) must be set separately and separately. When setting the second channel, be sure to turn off the volume of the first channel, use the "Bypass" button to jump through the first channel, the two pass to the same setting.
1) "FIFTH OCTAVE" function key: (Filter width) If the width of the feedback frequency point is suitable for listening, the silent person is OK. You can also set the octave band of the attenuation during feedback as required. The choice is between 5/1 and 1/10.
If you use FBX when making music programs, it is recommended to use a 1/10 scale constant "Q" filter. However, in language programs, such as speeches, conference calls, etc., it is recommended to use a 1/5 scale width filter to more effectively suppress feedback. You can activate the 1/5 scale filter by pressing the "Fifth Octave" key, and the internal LED will light up. Press the button again, and the subsequent filter is set to the standard 1/10 scale filter again.
