Papermaking and environmental protection are not contradictory

Human beings constantly reform the environment in their survival and development, and they also pollute the environment. However, the contaminated environment can be remedied and improved through environmental protection projects and environmental protection reforms.
The paper industry is not only a large consumer of energy but also a large capacity producer, and energy can be continuously recycled. The papermaking industry includes two major production processes: pulping and papermaking. During the pulping process, the plant fibers are separated by chemical and mechanical methods. The discharged waste liquid is comprehensively utilized through evaporation, concentration, and combustion causticization. The alkali is returned to the pulping process. The high-pressure steam generated by burning the organic matter is used to generate electricity first, and the low-pressure steam generated is used for production and life. In addition, the paper industry has gradually increased the recycling of production water and the degree of closure of the production process, and eventually achieved zero discharge of wastewater.
In recent years, China has increased the utilization rate of main wastes discharged from pulp and alkali recycling and developed technologies for oxygen delignification. There is also a production process that completely eliminates chlorine and uses ozone and hydrogen peroxide for bleaching. The elimination of the pollution of toxic compounds such as dioxin in the bleaching process completely eliminates the pollution caused by the organic chlorides, and the treated waste water can be fully used to meet the irrigation standards. In recent years, the use of low-ozone recovery furnaces, concentrated combustion of hazardous exhaust gases, and electrostatic dust removal have made the paper industry a truly modern green industry.
According to the theory of sustainable development, the integration of forestry and paper is actively promoted, and issues such as the development of the paper industry and environmental resources are considered in a unified manner to seek common development. Forest managers obtain direct economic benefits from the creation of fast-growing papermaking forests. Some of them are used to improve their own living standards, some are used to compensate for the consumption of resources, and the reproduction is expanded. The sustainable use of timber resources is finally achieved, and the ecological benefits required by society are achieved. . The combination of paper and forestry will provide high quality, stable and cheap raw materials to further promote the development of forestry. International experience shows that the forestry and paper industries in developed countries have changed from each other to mutual promotion.
For a long time, there has always been a misunderstanding that papermaking and forests are two opposites of contradiction. In particular, after the implementation of the "prohibition of deforestation" measures, the contradiction is even more pronounced. In fact, the forest industry is divided into two major types: one is the ecological forest, usually refers to the original natural forest; the other is the economic forest, usually refers to the fast-leaf forest. The massive destruction of natural virgin forests is the greatest damage to the living environment of human beings. However, the use of wood to process residues and the creation of a large number of fast-growing forests for papermaking draws on the advanced experience of forest-paper integration in developed countries to look at afforestation, forest industry, and papermaking. Into an industrial chain, forestry and paper symbiosis, paper feeding back forestry, and forestry to expand the paper industry, take the road of industrialization, and develop the ecological paper industry, is the only way for the sustainable development of the paper industry.
