Some of the problems that had been solved very simply in the production and in the middle of the film caused strange errors in the production and in the middle of the film. In fact, as long as our production personnel have some understanding of the output printing process, they can be avoided.
Like a manuscript from a magazine, due to some problems in the production process, after the output center was opened, it was sent to the RIP and found that there were missing words in the file, but the output staff could not check the problem. Finally, the magazine believes that this is because the output center uses pirated characters. After that, they took the manuscript to the new generation output center and the result was the same problem. Fortunately, the technical level here is relatively high. After careful inspection, it was found that there were several "implied spaces" in the file that were not deleted. After deleting the space, there will be no such problem in the film. This very simple problem for production has caused the output center to burn, and it has also caused people from magazines to run around. It also delays the time and almost missed the publication date. The output center is very helpless, but we feel that if there is a problem with the file, the biggest loss is still the design and production here. Delaying time is a trivial matter, but if there are any errors, it will not be discovered until the final prints are out. There are many similar simple problems ...
We have collected some precautions made in various software. Now let the professionals in the output center tell us the specific points of attention in these production processes. Listen to the professionals! ~
General considerations
1. Mac users should not use system fonts such as Beijing, Song, FangSong, Hei, Kai, etc. If they are used, they will not be output or will be garbled.
2. Please do not use RGB pictures, if the output is incorrect, it may be grayscale or other colors that are not required by the customer.
3. If the customer uses more English fonts, especially for some uncommon textbooks, please copy them into the disk when outputting the film to facilitate output.
Freehand3.1
1. When the Chinese character distance is negative, it is easy to cause the text to overlap.
2. The correct use of the "fill and stroke" function can easily lead to "pasting". If it is wider, you can press an identical word with no effect (apple + =, choose effect = none), and use "fill and storke" to make the text imprinted.
Note the "overprivt" option.
3. For the gradient in freehand, the output precision in the document should be changed to 2400dpi, so that the gradient will be better.
4. "Tuan-Pattern" is a kind of filled bitmap. After output, its color is solid color and cannot be screened. For example, the file is set to C10Y10 light green, the screen display is normal, but the output is C100Y100 dark green.
5. TIFF images that exceed a certain number of megabytes cannot be placed in Freehand 3.1, and the images will be spent.
6. After placing a TIFF or EPS image in Freehand 3.1, if the format of the image changes (such as TIFF becomes EPS or EPS becomes TIFF), the Freehand file may not be opened.
7. If the inserted picture changes another Photoshop PSD picture, the freehand file will not report the missing picture when it is opened, but the picture will not be displayed during output.
8. The image link cannot be automatically updated in Freehand 3.1, so the size of the image after it has been placed changes, and no change can be seen in Freehand. But after opening the file in the output center, the size of the picture changed. Therefore, after the picture is changed, it should be re-inserted in Freehand.

1. In Freehand 8.0, the "transparent" effect is not exactly the effect of the screen display, but the effect of the base country after being filtered by the transparent color, which needs to be used carefully.
2. When black text is entered in Freehand 8.0, the black filled in the text is generally automatically selected as "imprint" and turned into a curve. It is also black imprint, but when it is filled with color, the imprint option is still It is selected, so the color words are also embossed, and all special effects are also embossed on these basis. And the average producer will not notice this. When the output is required, the embossing effect is displayed on the screen and carefully checked. Use back-end color separation to avoid this problem.
3. There is a tool for cutting pictures in Freehand, which cannot be used. The graphics images will be restored to their original state after relinking (automatic update).
PageMaker6.0 6.5
1. Except for the use of "Italic" in the Chinese character effect, all other character effects are error-prone. Especially the "underline" and "hollow effect" cannot be realized correctly: "bold" will cause slurs, the "hollow effect" font will not be hollowed out, when the Hanyi font uses "underline", the horizontal line will penetrate into the word (square The font can be 'underlined').
2. In the text effect dialog box, the value of the word spacing cannot be too small, otherwise it will cause the phenomenon of overlapping words.
3. If you use a compound font, please bring the compound font file together with the output to prevent the font name from being inconsistent with the content.
4. Avoid using spaces to align text. Use the 'Tab' key and adjust the position in 'Indent, Tab Stop'.
5. In Pagemaker 6.0, the gray text will sometimes be embossed if it is set with the default black percent. The percentage of a gray color or a newly defined black should be redefined.
6. Make sure all images have links. Images without link information can only be output at 72dpi.
7. When the PageMaker file is opened, the picture will be automatically linked in this folder first. If different images with the same name are entered in different folders, the picture may be linked wrong when the file is opened.
8. If the linked image is changed, the size of the newly generated file may be different from the original one, so that the image may be deformed after re-linking. 9. Avoid directly copying images or graphics from other production software and pasting them into PageMaker. You should use the 'Place' command to place graphics images. Directly copied graphics and images cannot be separated and output.
10. When placing a large TIFF image or a TIFF image with very high accuracy in PageMaker, the output image will be doubled in horizontal direction, and it can be saved as EPS.
11. After inserting the EPS picture, avoid coloring the EPS picture, otherwise the hair piece will be output according to the filled color or the output color is wrong.
12. The EPS image placed in PageMaker cannot be a JPEG compressed EPS image, otherwise it will be a gray block after output.
13. When using EPS images output by Freehand or Illustrator,
Pay attention to A. Change the special font in Freehand or Illustrator, otherwise it will be garbled;
B. There are four-color images in Freehand. Choose CMYK format and include images when exporting;
C. The default black cannot be used in the Freehand diagram, a new black should be set;
D. The text or lines that should be embossed in the Freehand or Illustrator diagrams should be embossed;
E. After the EPS is generated, PageMaker will output the hidden things in Illustrator.
14. Objects that are completely outside the page cannot be exported. A part of it must enter the page to be exported.
15. When the grayscale TIFF image is placed in Freehand (Apple + I), the nature of the image can be changed into a transparent image. However, after generating an EPS image and placing it in a PageMaker file, the original grayscale image (with a white background) will still be linked during output. You can only change the original grayscale TIFF image to a black and white image. After replacing it in Freehand, regenerate the EPS image and output it after replacing it in PageMaker.

Quark
1. There is a problem with the white color of the software itself. It is easy to change to black when outputting, and you should reset a white color when using it.
2. Objects completely outside the page cannot be output. You can put graphics, lines or file blocks a little bit on the page.
3. Quark automatically sets the trapping trap. Non-pure black fonts on the color or image background will also trap traps, so that if it is a relatively small font, it will be more obvious and bold.
Illustrator
1. For the graphics produced by the Illustrator software itself, the precision in the "Properties" dialog box should be adjusted to 2400 points, otherwise the image will easily appear as a polygon (that is, it is not delicate enough and has edges).
2. If gradients are used in Illustrator, please select the following options:
Chinese version: "File"-"Document Settings"-"Compatible with gradient and gradient network printing"
English version: "file"-"Document"-"Compatible Gradient and Gradient Mesh Printing"
3. The Illustrator output is an EPS file with black text and graphics to be selected for black embossing.
4. Illustrator has the function of converting RGB images to CMYK, but the color effect is extremely poor and cannot be used.
5. Illustrator9 has the option of transparency 'Transparency'. When outputting or generating EPS, the 'print / expect' should be set to the highest.
CorelDraw
1. If the picture inserted in CorelDraw is rotated, it may output broken pictures or image defects.
2. Objects selected with "Overprint Fill" will be embossed.
3. If there are full-width Chinese spaces in the text (twice larger than normal spaces), half-width spaces must be used to replace the output error.
4. Sometimes when the English font is selected for Chinese characters, the display is gone, and an error is reported during output.
5. Fine text can generally be turned into a curve with little change. Text words cannot be turned directly into curves. When the text font is converted into fine art text, some characteristics of the text text are gone, and the text style changes greatly.
6. The ghost image created directly in CorelDraw 8.0 cannot be output correctly, please use 9.0 to make it.
