In recent years, maternity wear, especially in the functional maternity wear market such as radiation protection, has been hot. Radiation-proof fabrics are mainly made of high-tech wire drawing into metal fiber implants. It is a popular high value-added fabric on the market. In this paper, the quantitative analysis method of metal fiber in polyester fiber cotton and cotton wire fabric was studied.
2 test
2.1 Test sample: polyester cotton, cotton wire fabric (wire can be separated from the fabric).
2.2 Main reagents: concentrated sulfuric acid, sulfuric acid (mass fraction: 75%), sulfuric acid (50% by mass), dilute aqueous ammonia solution (80mL concentrated ammonia water, diluted with water to 1L), distilled water.
2.3 Main equipment: With a triangular flask, glass rod, constant temperature oscillating water tank, analytical balance (accuracy 0.0001g), constant temperature blast oven, suction filtration device.
2.4 Test methods and procedures
1) Gravimetric method: Manually separate metal fiber from fiber, process, weigh and calculate.
2) Sulfuric acid method
(1) Calculate the weight of the metal fiber by using a method of dissolving cotton with a sulfuric acid (mass fraction of 75%) for the cotton wire fabric. In accordance with the general procedures specified in GB/T2910.1. Then, the prepared sample was placed in an Erlenmeyer flask, and 200 mL of sulfuric acid (75% by mass) was added to the glass stopper per gram of the sample. After shaking the flask to sufficiently wet the sample, the flask was kept (50 ± 5). Leave at °C for 1 h and shake once every 10 minutes. The solution was filtered through a glass sand core of known dry quality. The residue was filtered into a glass sand core, vacuumed and drained, and the flask was washed with a small amount of sulfuric acid.
Vacuum suction and drain, add new sulfuric acid solution to clear residue in the crucible, gravity drain for at least 1 min, then vacuum suction, cold water for several times, dilute ammonia twice, and then wash with cold water. Each time the washing is first gravity drained, and then drained. Finally, the crucible and residue are dried, cooled, weighed and the results calculated.
(2) For polyester fiber wire fabric, we calculate the weight of metal fiber by using concentrated sulfuric acid to dissolve polyester fiber. In accordance with the general procedures specified in GB/T2910.1. The sample was placed in a triangular flask, 100 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid was added per gram of the sample, and the sample was continuously stirred with a glass rod during 10 minutes at room temperature. The solution was filtered through a glass sand core of known dry quality. The above operation was repeated by adding 100 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid to a flask. Pour the contents of the flask into the glass core crucible, vacuum filter, empty or replace the suction filter bottle, then use 50mL sulfuric acid solution, distilled water, dilute ammonia solution, and finally wash the residue in the crucible with distilled water. . Finally, the residue and crucible are dried, cooled, weighed and the results calculated.
1) From the above test data, there is no significant difference between the metal fiber content measured by the gravimetric method and the metal fiber content measured by the sulfuric acid method, and the error is within the confidence range. Therefore, for the non-detachable fabric, the sulfuric acid method measures the metal fiber. The method of content is also feasible and the measured data is reliable.
2) The data measured by the sulfuric acid method is too large because metal fibers and sulfuric acid may form a small amount of sulfate attached to the surface of the metal fiber, but the resulting error is within the confidence range.
