What is violet laser technology?

There is relatively little discussion about violet laser plate materials at present, because there are also few manufacturers that can produce violet laser plate materials. Except for Agfa, Fujifilm and domestic Lucky Second Glue, almost no other plate manufacturers provide it.

Violet laser CTP plate is visible light series, it is divided into silver salt plate and photopolymerized plate. The silver salt plate contains a silver halide layer, which is diffused to form a metallic silver image area on the plate surface. This layer is sensitive to light, fast exposure, and the printing durability is about 350,000 prints. No baking plate is required, but the developer contains harmful ingredients and needs to be carried out. Environmental protection. The photopolymerization version uses free radicals to initiate polymerization to produce alkali-insoluble polymers, which can be developed with an aqueous kit. The waste liquid does not contain silver or other potentially harmful substances. The printing process is from 200,000 to 350,000, and it can reach 1 million after baking. At present, the environmental protection-free purple laser CTP plate has also been released, further promoting the environmental protection process of purple laser technology.

Advantages of violet laser technology

1. The violet laser light source is a laser with a 405nm spectrum. Due to the small size of the laser head, it can reach a very high speed, so a very high imaging speed can be obtained;

2. The purple laser diode can directly switch the laser, and it is only turned on when the actual scanning and imaging on the printing plate. Therefore, for lasers with the same nominal service life, the actual service life of the violet laser is longer;

3. The cost of the violet laser diode is relatively low, and the power consumption is also lower than that of the thermal plate-making equipment. Therefore, the violet laser technology has maintained a low level in the cost of the equipment.

Disadvantages of violet laser technology

1. Violet laser plate belongs to the visible light series, which can only be operated under a safe yellow light, which brings certain inconvenience to the operation of the equipment;

2. Purple laser equipment generally adopts the inner drum structure, and the laser head is driven by a motor to complete the plate making process at high speed, but high speed operation will cause certain loss to the motor and is easy to damage;

3. Due to the limited number of available plate manufacturers, the price of purple laser CTP plate is relatively high;

4. Violet laser plate has high requirements for the temperature and time of pre-baking and developing, and the technical requirements are higher.
