German online furniture transaction sales growth is the fastest in the world

The German business consulting Titze (UnternehmensberatungTitzeGmbH) published the second full version of the multi-user market research upgrade for the e-commerce of furniture and home improvement. The results of the first study in the spring of 2008 have shown a positive development in online marketing development. According to a Titze news report, in the past two years, the development of online furniture transactions has once again increased significantly. According to Titze's research, despite the economic crisis, online furniture trading achieved the highest sales growth rate in all furniture industry sales channels.

In the past few years, the number of Internet users worldwide has surged. Almost 70% of residents in Germany use the Internet, 32.5 million Germans or have experience shopping through the Internet. According to Titze, more than one-third of Germans even shop online over the Internet more than once a month. Currently, the average number of online purchases by an Internet user is 9.4 per year - the trend is still rising. At the same time, the length of stay is also extended: each Internet user spends an average of 136 minutes a day online. In addition, the use of mobile internet has become a trend in recent years. 71% of Germans have a mobile phone with Internet access, and in 2009, 7.7 million of them used this feature of mobile phones.

Among young consumers, the use of virtual social networks also plays a role in their purchasing decisions. They get product information from the Web 2.0 website, followed by online or regular stores.

According to Titze's research, there are currently about 150,000 online stores and 100,000 Ebay retailers available for trading in Germany.

At the same time, there are a large number of physical store furniture retailers also set up online stores. However, only 17 of the 100 most important furniture retailers have operated their own online stores.

According to Titze's research, one in four online shopping consumers spend between 500 and 999 euros a year, and 12% of consumers even spend more than 1,000 euros to shop online. In 2009, total sales of e-commerce sales channels in the furniture, kitchen, appliance and home industries totaled 1.895 million euros.

A complete market analysis report can be purchased from Titze for a price of €2,000, including VAT.
