3D printing smart sports bra sexy strike! (Photos)

Women all over the world know that the bra they wear is flawed. For example, the bra strap will be put on the shoulder, or it will absorb a lot of sweat after being worn for a long time, which makes people feel uncomfortable. To this end, at this year's New York Fashion Week, fashion design studios Chromat and Intel introduced a 3D printed smart sports bra with built-in Intel chips that sense the user's temperature changes, breathing and perspiration. You can even open some small vents to prevent excessive sweating.

Intel is of course well-known, and the design studio Chromat once showed a very interesting 3D printed clothing collection at New York Fashion Week last year. But this time, Chromat's work has become smarter. It is understood that this Chromat Aeros sports bra mainly relies on Intel's latest function module Curie, which has built-in sensors and lights to detect sweat and control a small set of vents. But all of this is included in the 3D printed frame, Lycra man-made elastic fibers and neoprene parts.

Designer Becca McCharen is responsible for adjusting this cool piece to make it look more modern. McCharen is no stranger to 3D printing technology . “I want clothing to have a certain function,” she said. “It should have a certain response to the body.” Before that, McCharen had designed clothes for many stars, including Madonna.

The Curie module's own features are enough to do this task, even though it's very small, just one button, you can hardly see it. The Curie module includes a 32-bit Intel quark microcontroller, a six-axis motion sensor that includes an accelerometer and gyroscope, and an integrated digital signal processing (DSP) sensor hub and pattern matching technology. It also includes low-power Bluetooth, 80KB of RAM and 384KB of flash. All in all, it was developed specifically for wearable products, so this smart bra can be turned into almost any piece of clothing. Intel's idea is that clothes can be embedded in health and convenience, not just for fitness, but even for social networking.

It seems that a smart bra is not enough to show the power of Curie. Chromat has designed a black Chromat Adrenaline dress, Adrenaline means adrenaline. The dress is made of neoprene on a 3D printed panel with a carbon fiber shelf on the back. Curie is connected to a carbon fiber frame. When Curie detects an increase in the user's adrenaline level (which can be detected by increased sweating and increased respiratory rate), the carbon fiber frame is activated by a shape memory alloy, just like a bird. Open the feathers and threaten the enemy.

Interesting? But unfortunately, because Intel's Curie module has not been FCC certified, it is not commercial, so whether it is a sweat-proof bra or a scary skirt, it will take some time to buy.
